Job Summary

Lokmanya Society is seeking an experienced Manager for the ATL (Above the Line) and PR (Public Relations) department. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in managing advertising campaigns, media planning, and media relations. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing the society’s ATL activities, including advertising on TV channels and newspapers, as well as maintaining positive media relationships and managing PR initiatives. The candidate should have a proven track record of handling budgets above 5 crores per year and possess a wide network within the newspaper and TV channel groups.


  • Develop and execute effective ATL strategies and advertising campaigns for Lokmanya Society, ensuring maximum visibility and brand exposure.
  • Manage the ATL budget, tracking expenses and ensuring optimal utilization of funds while achieving desired outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key contacts within newspaper and TV channel groups, negotiating favorable advertising rates and securing prime ad placements.
  • Collaborate with creative teams to develop impactful ad creatives and concepts that align with the society’s brand identity and marketing objectives.
  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify target audiences, media channels, and advertising opportunities that deliver maximum ROI for Lokmanya Society.
  • Oversee media planning for newspaper advertisements, ensuring appropriate selection of publications, ad formats, and release schedules. Coordinate with internal stakeholders to gather information and develop press releases, ensuring accurate and engaging content that aligns with Lokmanya Society’s messaging.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries related to Lokmanya Society, building and maintaining strong media relations to secure positive coverage and manage potential crises effectively.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging advertising platforms to identify new opportunities for brand exposure and engagement for Lokmanya Society.
  • Provide guidance and support to the ATL and PR team members at Lokmanya Society, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Stay updated with relevant regulations, policies, and guidelines related to advertising, PR, and media communication to ensure compliance for Lokmanya Society.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing ATL and PR activities, preferably within an agency or corporate setting.
  • Proven track record of successfully handling budgets above 5 crores per year.
  • Strong network and connections within newspaper and TV channel groups, with the ability to leverage these relationships for advertising opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge of media planning, advertising strategies, and campaign execution across various channels.
  • Experience in developing and executing successful PR campaigns, including press releases, media relations, and crisis management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling content and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and insights to optimize advertising and PR strategies.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for media planning, campaign management, and reporting.
